Photography by Edera. NOTE: this is a scan of a film photo I took with my old point and shoot. Post-processing in Photoshop CS2 by Edera. Like it or not, that's my style Location: London, many many years ago.
With this photo, I feel that the unique aspects of London are being represented here. The tall, packed buildings and the red bus are both characteristics that London has. I believe that this photo, judging by the title of the deviation, is representing London early in the morning. I have given 'Vision' five stars because it seems to have delivered this quality well. The sun is low in both the morning and the evening, however the colours give that 'early morning' appeal. If the colours were more purple, red and blue - that would give an 'almost sunset' feel to this image.
However, I have seen a lot of London photos in the past and it doesn't strike me as new, unique or original to have London represented in this way. However, I wouldn't say this is a bad thing. The unique part about this photo is the execution of it, the time of day in London it's representing - I think that is original.
There is a vocal point in this photo, everything seems to home in on that and everything's in proportion to this. There are clear lines, like the pavement and road markings, all travelling along to this vocal point. The people within this photo seem to be walking towards it, too, which I think is a very unique addition to this photo... almost like saying they're walking into London, the heart of it, in the distance? Is a possibility. When thought on, this photo does inspire ideas and provides insight on what it might represent, or what's going on in there. There is also a slight grainy effect in this photograph, which I think adds to the effect of the shot. Everything has that pale yellow hue, as well, which (as I said previously) gives that 'early morning' feel.
I have given this five stars on impact, also, from what I've written about the insight this photo provides, and the thoughts it invokes on the viewer.
